Description
Every February, Safety+Health shines a spotlight on the CEOs Who “Get It” – the National Safety Council’s recognition of leaders who demonstrate a strong, personal commitment to supporting workplace safety and health efforts.
From NSC CEO Lorraine M. Martin’s introduction:
“These seven leaders prove that culture is shaped by what leaders prioritize. They’ve built systems that reduce risk and strengthen communication, so concerns are heard early. They’ve invested in tools and training that give teams the confidence to act. And more than anything, they’ve created workplaces where people feel valued, respected and supported.”
The priorities and accomplishments of the CEOs Who “Get It” reflect some of the “common themes” overviewed in this month’s NSC Thought Leadership column. In it, Chris Louis, global leader of NSC Networks, outlines some of the major topics of discussion in the NSC Networks’ recent forums. Among them are leadership engagement, organizational learning, and psychosocial risk and well-being. The best organizations, Chris says, “continuously seek to learn, embrace change and pivot when needed.” Their leaders provide support for current EHS efforts and build a foundation for the future.

And another opportunity to hear from NSC Networks global experts is only months away: Registration opens Feb. 3 for the 2026 NSC Safety Summit. Set to take place May 6-8 in Baltimore, it will bring together the Future of EHS, the HOP Summit and the NSC Spring Safety Conference & Expo into “one unifying event.” Go to 2026safety summit.nsc.org for information and watch for the April issue of S+H, in which you’ll find pre-event coverage.
